Have You Ever Looked Guilt In The Eyes?

Every night Tinley and I read a book together for homework. Usually Shaelee and Bode are climbing all over us and jumping up and down, but on this particular night it was very quiet. I should have known something was going on, but I was so engrossed in the book (you know the one about Chick and Pip and the Beastie) that I did not notice. This is what I found..... (don't forget to pause my music)

He eventually fessed up. But I must admit he is a genius, did you see that "T" and at such a young age. He must get it from his mother!!

Also, I now have 3 men in my life!! Of course you know the first two, but this third one gives me something that neither one can. He is clean, smells good and works super hard. He is always helping me around the house and leaves me with that oohhh so good feeling of cleanliness! He is..........

MR. CLEAN!!

Halloween Week In Review

Bode has discovered sunglasses. Unfortunately the only ones he has access to are girl glasses. Maybe he will get a new "big boy" pair for his birthday!

We went to Grandma Matthews for FHE. Geanie and I filmed and interviewed her and it was so much fun. We heard lots of fun stories. Geanie made the cutest cupcakes (she is such a Betty), but I am so sad that I did not get a picture of it!!

Geanie and Jessica threw a Halloween party for our kids! It was so fun!! They had face painting, pumpkin painting, donuts on a string, and tons of good food and games!

The kids were digging for candy!!

Bode found these cute glasses (they were my friend Kristen's) and he did not want to give them up!! Do you blame him??

Minnie Mouse

Devilish Angel

Coffin Bride

Coffin Bride again!
The whole gang!

Bode would not wear his hood or smile.....so this is the best picture we got.

Vegas Baby!!!

Janet got Geanie and I tickets to Vegas for our birthdays...and it was fun. Even though it looks like there was alcohol involved, I swear there wasn't!!!

We wear them well!!!

Oooohhhh yeah....everyone loves a good pair of beer goggles.

I am posting this picture not because of the totally so super cute Elvis costume I wanted to get Bode for 100 bones, but to show the world my favorite tour guide! See the girl on the left corner of the picture. Yeah, the one in the blue shirt...that is the only picture I got of her. Jerolyn chauffeured us all over the place. She was the greats hostess ever...thanks Jer!!

I always said I hated politics.....

Well, I can't believe that I am going to do this, but I feel that it is my duty as a parent to post this link. Proposition 8 in California is about same sex marriage. How does that affect us in other states? Watch this video and you will see. It is kinda long, but it will explain a lot. I personally do not care who you marry, just let me be the one to explain it to my kids. http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1815820715?bctid=1822459319

Happy Birthday Haylie!!!

I can't believe that my little Haylie is 9 years old! Wow, how time flies! Here are 9 things that I love about Haylie....

1. Her smile and giggle. Her eyes light up and she gets a belly roll going and it could make anyone laugh with her!

2. Her kindness. I love that she is so kind to everyone. Every teacher she has ever had always tells me how she is kind to everyone, including the "outcast" and that all of the kids fight over her. She is probably one of the most Christ-like people I have ever known.

3. She is a peacemaker. At home and at school. That is another thing every teacher has told me. Sometimes I worry about her being a pusher-over because she likes to "keep the peace" so much, but whenever she is in a position where she needs to stand up for herself, she always does.

4. She is my guinea pig. And she handles it so well. She might need therapy when she grows up because of all of the "things" I have tried out on her, but she seems to manage just fine, despite her crazy mother.

5. She keeps me in check. She is always saying "Mom, is that the right thing to do" or "You know, you could have said that nicer". And she is so dependable. I can always count on her to get the job done. She is my bestest helper!!!

6. Her honesty. In fact, she can't lie. Whenever she does (which isn't very often) she gets a goofy smile on her face and her nostrils flare. We always end up laughing because her face gives her up every time.

7. She is always willing to face her fears and never gives up. I know there have been times that she has done things that she has not wanted to. Haylie will do it with a smile on her face and she will conquer things that I am not sure even I could.

8. I love the relationship that she has with her daddy. I often say that I feel sorry for whoever dates her. She will stick up for her dad no matter what. She worships the ground he walks on and he does the same in return. (On a side note, another thing that I love about her is how unbelievably embarrassed she gets when we tease her about boys....she gets down right MAD when we bring up that subject. That's right Haylie, boys are dumb, and you can't get married until you are 67, so just keep thinking the way you do.)

Last but not least.....

9. Her testimony. I can't believe that at such a young age she could have such a strong testimony. She loves Christ and knows him as a brother and a friend. Watching her strengthens me.

Happy Birthday Haylie.....we love you and thank Heavenly Father every day for blessing our home with your precious spirit!!!
